The Maverick Inn

Great stay and happy we snagged a last minute reservation for one night. We would definitely have stayed longer if they had availability. Extremely clean, charming and provided everything we needed. The entry patio to our room really made you feel like you were in Alpine, TX! The Lobby and guest kitchen behind it was well stocked with area information and coffee. There was also a small coffee pot in the room. Microwave and ice were in the lobby kitchen. We arrived late at night and left out early the next morning so we actually never saw a single staff member but it didn’t hinder our stay in any way. Will stay here again for sure!

We stayed in a king/queen suite and the room was VERY spacious, cute and comfortable. It was very clean and staff were helpful, even getting us a rollaway bed. The pool was great. Not huge, but the kids loved jumping in the deep end. We were able to park near our room so loading/unloading the car was easy. Definitely would stay here again!

Very friendly young lady at reception who told me a lot about the area. It’s a very cool spot but I got a room adjacent to an ice making machine which kept working overnight causing a lot of noise. I would still very much recommend but ask for a room that’s not next to the lobby.

What an incredible place! We would definitely stay here again. 2 reasons it got a 4 and not 5 was because someone can easily watch though the front door if you dont cover it with a blanket. And you must get your room key at the holland hotel which is close, but still up the street. The lobby on site is open 24 hours with a code so you can still get ice and coffee without going too far :) The room was very clean and cozy! The bed was soooooo comfortable and the water for the tub got very hot and filled the tub quickly. There was a cute court yard to sit in but it was cold during our visit so we didnt get pictures MIGUEL at the Holland Hotel was incredible! He told us all about the area and was very friendly and professional. If he wasnt sure he made sure to double check so we were properly informed. 10/10 service!

If you enjoy vintage buildings and having a nights stay be more than just a place to lay your head you will love this motel. We spent two nights there recently and our only complaint was that we couldn’t stay longer

Great boutique hotel with classic Texas decor! We had a courtyard king room with a comfortable bed, very spacious room and had its own deck overlooking the courtyard. Quiet other than the train but we hardly noticed it after the 1st night. The pool area was nice as well. Location was great. Close to everything! Only thing that would have made it better was better WiFi. If we come back to Alpine, we’ll be staying here again!

This is our second stay at this gem and we love how unique it is. Very low key but with a lot of character.

Our first stay at the King’s Courtyard, amenities were very functional and pleasant. We did have a hard time finding our room at one a.m. as the room entrance was completely obscured by a bush. The balcony door was clearly visible but it wasn’t that obvious that it was our room. Meaning that the bush needs a trim so the door can be seen from the courtyard entrance. I’m giving five stars as that room was comfortable, spacious, and pleasant. The bathroom layout and decor were great, practical and functional. Do wear your ear plugs though as the train tracks are about 75-100 feet from the balcony. Would have been nice to have a list of hotel rules and emergency/helpful numbers or codes in the room as found in another room we stayed in the next day. There was also no ironing board but did have an iron which we appreciated. However, the next day, when we stayed in a room with double queen beds it didn’t have an iron at all. We noticed a lot of dust in both rooms we stayed in. The tapestries were a tell-tale sign that not much dusting had been done in at least a year so it seemed. The bathroom with the double queens was totally uncomfortable in layout and space. The sink was too high making me feel like I was 3 years old that I needed a step stool. Cleanliness was also an issue as the sink needed some scrubbing. Towel rack was too high and the shower head can’t be adjusted more so one is completely underneath the water stream. The angle of the shower head is set to an uncomfortable stream that only your head and shoulders receive water while your back is against the wall. But all in all we liked staying there as it was charming and scenic.
